Skip Tracing Terms of Service and Disclaimer

1. Purpose of Service

The Company (as defined below) provides skip tracing services ("Services") designed to assist clients in locating individuals solely for lawful and authorized purposes, including but not limited to litigation support, service of process, delivery of legal documents, foreclosure actions, and other legally permissible activities expressly authorized under applicable federal and state law.

The Services are provided by We Serve Law ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") to you ("Client," "you," or "your"). The Services are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected in any way to the United States Government or any governmental agency.

​

The Company utilizes third-party vendors and data sources ("Vendors") to provide the Services. The Company makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of information obtained from such Vendors.

2. Lawful Use Requirement

All information obtained through this Service must be used in full compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
By proceeding, you represent and warrant that:

​

  • You have a legitimate, legally authorized purpose for using this Service;

  • You will provide adequate documentation demonstrating your permissible use;

  • Your use of the Service complies with the law;

  • You possess all necessary licenses, permits, and authorizations required under applicable law to access and use the information provided through the Services;  

  • You are not prohibited by any law, regulation, court order, or other legal restriction from accessing or using the Services; and

  • All information provided by you to the Company in connection with the Services is true, accurate, complete, and current.

3. Prohibited Uses

Use of this Service for any impermissible purpose is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:

  • Locating friends, family members, or others for personal reasons;

  • Accessing information out of personal curiosity;

  • Obtaining information about a public figure, celebrity, government official, or political candidate;

  • Tracking, monitoring, or targeting individuals based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic;

  • Using the information for harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, or any unlawful purpose;

  • Using the Service to locate individuals under the age of 18;

  • Using the Services, in whole or in part, as a factor in determining an individual’s creditworthiness, employment eligibility, insurance eligibility, housing eligibility, or for any other purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (FCRA). The Company is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the FCRA, and the Services do not constitute consumer reports as defined by the FCRA;

  • Using Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) data for traffic, toll, or parking violation notifications;

  • Reselling, redistributing, or disclosing information obtained through the Services to any third party without express written consent from the Company;

  • Using automated means, including bots, scrapers, or scripts, to access the Services;

  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive source code or underlying algorithms from the Services;

  • Any use that violates the terms of service or acceptable use policies of the Company's Vendors; or

  • Any other use prohibited by applicable federal, state, or local law.

4. Permissible Uses

Permissible uses include, but are not limited to:​

 

  • Use in connection with civil, criminal, administrative, or arbitral proceedings in any federal, state, or local court, agency, or self-regulatory body;

  • Use for service of process, investigations in anticipation of litigation, execution or enforcement of judgments, or pursuant to a court order;

  • Use for other authorized legal or regulatory purposes supported by appropriate documentation.

5. Documentation Requirement

Before any search request may be processed, you must provide verifiable documentation establishing your permissible use . to the Company's reasonable satisfaction. The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any request or documentation that does not adequately demonstrate a permissible use or that raises compliance concerns.


Sensitive or unrelated information may be redacted, provided the relevant identifiers and sufficient context remain visible to verify the permissible purpose.


Examples of acceptable documentation include, but are not limited to:

​

  • Screenshots from internal case management systems or databases;

  • Physical business or client records;

  • Client applications or contracts;

  • Subpoenas, summons, judgments, court dockets, or case excerpts (relevant portions only);

  • Affidavits, petitions, enforcement orders, or warrants; and

  • Traffic citations or other court-generated records
     

All documentation must substantiate your lawful purpose for accessing personally identifiable information. The Company may request additional documentation or clarification at any time. Failure to provide adequate documentation may result in denial of Services, suspension of your account, or termination of these Terms. You acknowledge and agree that the Company has no obligation to verify the authenticity of documentation provided and relies on your representations regarding the legitimacy of such documentation. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company for any claims arising from false or fraudulent documentation.

6. Compliance and Certification

By accessing or using the Services, you certify, represent, warrant and covenant that:

​

  • You have a legitimate and lawful purpose for each search;

  • You will comply with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards including those governing data privacy and consumer protection;

  • You will not use or disclose the information obtained for impermissible or unlawful purposes;

  • You will maintain confidentiality of all data obtained through the Services and implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect such data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction;

  • You will not access the Services on behalf of, or provide information obtained through the Services to, any person or entity that would be prohibited from using the Services under these Terms;

  • You will immediately notify the Company of any unauthorized access to or use of data obtained through the Services;

  • You will comply with all data retention and destruction requirements under applicable law and will securely destroy all data obtained through the Services when no longer needed for the permissible purpose;

  • You acknowledge that breach of these certifications may result in civil and criminal liability under federal and state law; and

  • These certifications are material inducements to the Company's provision of the Services, and the Company would not provide the Services absent these certifications.

7. Data Protection and Confidentiality

You agree to safeguard all data obtained through this Service in compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA), and other applicable laws.  It is your responsibility to be fully informed about such requirements and seek legal counsel as needed.
